By Reed Richardson Nov 21st, 2019, 12:15 am
CNNs post-debate panel picked apart what has roundly criticized as a poor debate performance by former Vice President Joe Biden, with political analysts Van Jones and David Axelrod offering their own devastating takes on his bumbling performance.
If Im [Michael] Bloomberg and Im watching, I say to myself youve got Biden doing pretty well, Pete [Buttigieg] doing pretty well. Where is the room for the moderate to come in? Jones said of the billionaire and former New York City mayor who is a late entrant to the Democratic primary. And then Biden blows four tires in the last 10 minutes. If youre Bloomberg you start looking and going, Hey man .
Or Deval Patrick. You say how many times can Biden do that and survive? Jones added, referencing the latest to join the 2020 race.
This is akin to the Booker point, Axelrod then weighed in. Biden, I wouldnt say he was a house of fire in any of the debates that weve been to. And yet he comes kind of bumps along, kind of Mr. Magooing his way through this. You keep worrying hes going to hit a wall, but hes moving forward.

present a disparaging view from a talking head, or find a something negative about Biden consistently
To me that demonstrates their lack of confidence in THEIR candidate that they resort to that kind of "name calling" bullshit

(32,793 posts)Axelrod wanted a bigger role in policy making for the Obama WH and Obama wasnt having it. He saw Biden in his way. Axelrod was essentially demoted and moved back to Chicago literally crushed by that decision. He further dug in his heels against Biden
Cannot find the link to this story, it appeared in the Chicago trib... will look some more. It was a very insightful read
This is the basis of the story

(8,144 posts)attempt to stay relevant through insult, unfair and crude, but he feels elevated in attacking the most qualified candidate, still respected world-wide, and still the frontrunner.
Neither Van Jones or Axelrod will ever attain Bidens position in politics, in the heart of Americans, or come near to his accomplishments.

(2,061 posts)Calls it like he sees it and is pretty straight forward. He was recently speaking very highly of Biden. He will again if Biden gives him reason to do so, which he will.
