Leon Cooperman - go google it - Trevor Noah commented on this, in his usual competent and lucid way.

"Rinse" - wash clean with the truth.

Fast responses.

Repeat the points and truths multiple ways redundantly in a repetitive manner again and again over and over redundantly and repetitively.

All this brouhaha about a 1 or 2% wealth tax is fascinating and a reflection of 20 some years of Fox, Limbaugh etc railing against any taxing of the Richie Riches. It apparently has filtered down to the general population.

The reality is that top marginal tax rates were cut by about half by Reagan and has stayed about there since.

We're suddenly seeing a number of Dems here arguing passionately that billionaires shouldn't be "punished" with a horrible, terrible, no good, very bad wealth tax because some of them (Gates, Buffett) fund good causes.

I'm dead serious. Sure, I wouldn't mind having a few more zeroes in my income each year. I'd love to be able to travel the world and not have to worry about a medical emergency impacting my ability to pay my mortgage.

But the thought of being a billionaire literally makes me cringe. I couldn't look people in the eye. I'd be giving my money away left and right. Because mansions don't appeal to me. I can only exist in so much space. I mean, how many beds does a person need to sleep in in one night?

Fancy cars don't appeal to me. I do hate to drive though, I wouldn't mind hiring someone to do that for me. But it would be a living wage with killer benefits and it wouldn't be a limousine. He or she would have to be content driving me around in my Ford.

Whenever my husband and I remember to buy a lottery ticket, it's usually when there is an absurd jackpot and we're on a road trip and can pass the miles with some harmless fantasizing. After paying off our current bills and gifting money to friends and family, we inevitably start talking about causes we'd support.

Is something wrong with me? I just don't understand the mentality of a billionaire clinging to a few more dollars they don't need and wouldn't miss if they didn't watch the news and know the tax codes had changed.

I'm not suggesting being a billionaire is anything shameful, I'm just failing to see why it's something admirable. The person with the most toys at death is still dead.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden
