Wouldn't it be better if they segued into a conversation about the National Popular Vote instead considering it takes a Constitutional Amendment to end the EC and that will never happen?

(638 posts)I would say that a reason for a constitutional amendment would be that a Republican governor could overturn a state law giving their electoral college votes to the winner of the popular vote. Perhaps you could get it included along with making voting day a national holiday as well as a positive right to vote enshrined in the Constitution.
