Newt Gingrich Complains That Beto O'Rourke Has Brought 'Kardashian Era of Politics'

Looks like Newtie and the Blowhards are a tad worried about Beto -- Don

-----------------------

by Ken Meyer | Mar 20th, 2019, 11:01 am

-snip-

In an opinion piece Gingrich wrote for Newsweek, he remarks on “the me-centered nature of O’Rourke’s existence” and the fact that his public profile has grown since Ted Cruz defeated him in the 2018 senate election. He went on to say that O’Rourke has failed to “define a moral cause large enough to justify” his presidential candidacy, even though his campaign is being propped up by the media and the “liberal establishment.”

From the piece:

O’Rourke may be the most charismatically empty candidate since Robert Redford played “The Candidate” in the 1972 movie of that name. Like Redford, O’Rourke has lanky good looks, is pleasing to watch for a lot of people, and has a “Kennedy-esque” feel.

In the age of the Kardashians, O’Rourke may be the perfect candidate. He is in because he is in. He should lead because he likes to lead. We should applaud and watch in awe because that is our role.

Somehow, I doubt if this will work.

Quick question: who was the reality TV star who became president again? Also, who is it that boasts about having Kim Kardashian in his corner?

By the way, this isn’t the first time Gingrich has tried to make “Kardashian politics” fly as a catchy attack line. Here’s how that worked out in a previous attempt:

7. Yes, I do agree w/ that, afraid of Beto...what's nice about the whole field of candidates ...

that we are seeing is so much strength, depth, wisdom, knowledge, and smarts in all of the candidates, and it is almost too hard to pick which one to choose...I struggled w/ my own choice, and will maybe change my choice several times over the next coming months / year to come.

I await eagerly the entire democratic process to unfold as all of us are, so we can get the current occupant out of the WH (who doesn't deserve this office in any shape, form, fashion, etc., and proves it daily that he doesn't measure up by any standards applied to the highest office in the land). Once we pick our candidate from among the wide field of choices, I stand ready to support our candidates (for VP too) 1000%.

Take care!

Serially cheating on them until he ended up screwing another Congressman's intern?

Slimy Newt was at the center of "Kardashian Era of Politics" before it was even fashionable.

and has spent the past quarter century selling fake cancer cures and turning up every election to milk them for attention and survival. And here he is, with one of his inevitably poisonous contributions. Wonder who's paying him for this, but not much. His efforts should be good for some travel expenses and dinners, but the real payoff will be in customers for his products.
