(18,656 posts)In November 2011, Cooperman gained attention for an open letter to U.S. President Barack Obama in which among other things charged the president with engaging in class warfare.[39][40] This letter has been characterized by Joseph Palermo of The Huffington Post as a rant bemoaning the mistreatment of billionaires by the president and his "minions" (Cooperman's word).[41]

(46,754 posts)entitlement loophole that enriches a few, and will continue to keep our country's priorities imbalanced because their revenue machines will never get properly investigated. In sum, you keep letting the bankers and Wall Street off the hook and you will cultivate a micro community that will continue to protect their entitled turf. This is who we're really fighting against.

(1,812 posts)Almost of all the new wealth in this country is going to the top 1% ..And many are sick and tired of this shit ...Many of us want a Democratic Party that stands up for the working class .. .The "little people" who created this wealth and have not received , adjusted for inflation, a pay raise in over 45 years... They have been vey productive , worked their ass off, and don't have 500 dollars in the bank to show for it .That gross inequity , not Bernie's "good lucks and charm", are fueling this political revolution .He may not be successful... Perhaps Liz will carry his baton ...Someone will- until this system has changed ...

(39,377 posts)They have been overplaying their hand for decades. The top shareholders are not the sole source of shareholder profits, but that doesnt stop them from taking a 95% cut while their employees get the privilege of a job with middling-to-no raises and benefits that get squeezed every year. This not only needs to stop, it needs to be unwound via a wealth tax. Bernie and Elizabeth are making it impossible for the Coopermans of the world to stifle the debate and this is the pathetic drunken roundhouse right rhetoric they come up with which is so easily countered. Would that more leading Democrats jumped in the fight.
