Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumListen up my dears..anyone else worried about all the money the Trump campaign has this time
Remember he was getting all that free press last time by being as big a jerk as he could be and keeping his name in front of people 24/7... this time he is awash in money.. and dick-taters from Putin to Erdogan will be sending money through the pipeline of the bot and small donor etc.. we are going to be hit hard by this.. and I am worried about it.. all our people are at a disadvantage because of this.. From Biden (who was short this quarter.. so all the Biden folk.. we need to pony up)..to Buttigieg, Sanders and Warren and all the ships at sea.. this is basically a money call for everyone..

(24,334 posts)Be sure about this...Trump is broke. His businesses overall are losing money. He can't make the payments on his underwater mortgages. He has to steal every dime he can get his hands on just to barely stay afloat. Why else would a man who says he is worth ten billion dollars be in some stupid reality show on TV? Who else who is really worth that kind of money would bother to make an idiotic spectacle of himself just to stay afloat? Nobody. Because Trump's net worth is a negative number. And I challenge him to prove differently. It would be the easiest thing in the world to prove people like me wrong, and he hasn't done it. More people in the media and politics need to challenge him on this. Some candidate(s) need to step up and do it.

Same with a politician. There is a demographic that will vote for him. More messaging out isn't going to change that.
They can invest in the ground game but I don't think they are competent enough to run an effective operation. Could be wrong.

(2,061 posts)The RNC and Trump are floating in cash.
There is an equalizer. PACs are going to have to show up big for us. They will be showing up big for Republicans on top of what Trump and the RNC have. Problem with that is PACs dont instill branding and consistency like the control over your own funds does.

(581 posts)he has a base of 25-30% that will never leave him no matter what.
then there are the conservative special interest groups who ignore all his crookedness because someone with an R next to his name in the white house will be anti-abortion and pro-tax cuts for the rich.
add to that four years ago he was a businessman who could buy his way through the process to the extent possible but as a sitting president he's supposed to be legally and ethically above that (of course he isn't but donors matter more to his campaign than 2016)
