Related: About this forumTulsi Gabbard Does Not Deny Being A Russian Asset
Youd think a Democratic presidential candidate would vehemently deny being a Russian asset - but Tulsi Gabbard dodged and deflected when asked about such accusations by Tucker Carlson. In case youve missed the controversy, Hillary Clinton made a clear suggestion this week that Russians are grooming Gabbard to run as a third-party candidate. Although Clinton didn't name names, Russian support for Gabbard has long been obvious.
Gabbard has repeatedly stated she has no plans to run as a third-party candidate. Yesterday, she told NBC News, I want to be very clear I will not run as a third party candidate or as an independent. She made a similarly unequivocal pledge on CNN in August.
Yet, when she appeared last night on Tucker Carlson Tonight for the second time this week, she did not directly respond to Tucker Carlsons opening question, So just to the factual point first, are you a Russian sleeper cell? Instead, she evasively changed the subject and attacked Clinton:
Snip.......
In fact, Gabbards Twitter clapbacks to Clinton didnt deny the accusation either.

The comments were ALL pro Tulsi and they loved her being a vet and not a "warmonger". One person suggested they were bots but she was shut down immediately by everyone else. Are all of these comments from bots? Three Dem candidates are defending Tulsi too. What is going on?

Russia has lots of experience in media censorship. So perhaps it is logical that Rep Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI-2) hires an agent of the Russian government as a consultant to keep Hawaii media under control.
But Gabbards consultant, Chris Cooper of the Potomac Square Group, is no ordinary Russian agent. Cooper is allegedly one of seven identified as being at the center of illegal Russian lobbying efforts reaching into the Trump campaign and Congress.

(1,773 posts)Some accusations are so ridiculous on their face they don't merit a response.
Another way you could look at this (gasp!) is that if Hillary really believes Tulsi is a Russian asset, and if it's such an obvious truth (as you stated), what trouble would it have been for Hillary to simply produce some piece of ironclad evidence that Tulsi could never deny?
Sorry, but remaining silent in the aftermath of an unproven accusation does not make that accusation true.

(11,993 posts)It would basically be:
"I am not a Russian asset!"
"See? That's exactly what a Russian asset would say!"
Fact is, those who hate TG would hate her no matter how she answered.
That said, I think her comments about HRC were awful. When Hillary went low (i.e. attacked), TG could have gone high. But who knows, some people think her attack on HRC may actually help her. I think it really squashes any idea she may have had about possibly being someone's VP, though.

(53,876 posts)our keyboards? I think they do, but in case you don't know Gabbard hired Chris Cooper, the smear campaigner who was paid by Natalia Veselnitskaya and her Russian backed sponsor.
Veselnitskaya, if you don't remember, is the Russian lawyer from the infamous trump tower meeting in 2016 where Jr. trump, Kushner and Manafort attended to get dirt on Hillary Clinton.
Why in the hell would a Democratic presidential candidate want to hire someone like that? Seems you'd want to steer 100 miles clear of being associated with someone like that if you're a Democrat, especially if you're running for office, and the presidency no less.

Furthermore, I am not aware of anyone asking her whether she is a strawberry sundae and her saying she is not responsible for what strawberry trolls do or not do. If she ever does, I will have reasons to suspect she is a strawberry sundae.

An independent analysis of the Russian news media found that RT, the Kremlin-backed news agency, mentioned Ms. Gabbard frequently for a candidate polling in single digits, according to data collected by the Alliance for Securing Democracy, a group that seeks to track and expose efforts by authoritarian regimes to undermine democratic elections.
Disinformation experts have also pointed to instances of suspicious activity surrounding Ms. Gabbards campaign in particular, a Twitter hashtag, #KamalaHarrisDestroyed, that trended among Ms. Gabbards supporters after the first Democratic debate, and appeared to be amplified by a coordinated network of bot-like accounts but there is no evidence of coordination between these networks and the campaign itself.
