Breaking: Cory Booker opens door to abolishing the filibuster

Good news:

Backgrounder on why the filibuster must be repeated, or we’ll be stuck with Republican politics forever:

http://nymag.com/intelligencer/2019/02/democrats-should-trust-democracy-and-kill-the-filibuster.html

(Note for people that argue incorrectly that Dems will want the filibuster again when they’re in the minority:
1. The filibuster advantages the GOP because it takes 67 votes to actually take action, and only a minority of votes to obstruct. And Dems are the party of good government which requires action; GOP the party of obstruction.
2. We have 4 years to fix the country: if we don’t win and also take sweeping action, then propaganda, voter suppression, and a hijacked judiciary will lock in GOP advantages for decades.

Seriously. The GOP illegitimate judges will lock in voter suppression and we’ll likely lose in 2024, and then every election after that.
We MUST win the Senate in 2020.

I just prefer your type of message over counting chickens a year before they hatch.

I used to love that it forced bipartisanship to get things done.

I'm over that. Drop it like yesterdays garbage, get a Senate majority in there, get us a real president, and let's change every fucking we can, and I don't give 2 flying f's what conservatives or republicans get pissed off about it.

We're seriously going to mainstream packing the court and killing the filibuster.....and then lose the House and presidency in 2020.

This is so stupid.

A big part of the problem is right now our deadlock leads to frustrated voters and a sense that the bums can't do anything right (throw them out!). It's time we had an actual, effective government that's able to enact the change we vote for.

It would be one thing if we had the presidency and 57 Senate seats at the moment.

The last time we did this, we ended up letting McConnell confirm a million judges including Kavanaugh.
