Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumWhat Biden Reminds me of.
Biden is like a pitcher who once upon a time maybe had a decent fastball, with some life and bite and maybe some late movement, but not the blistering overpowering type that makes for a top of the rotation ace, and maybe not one over which he had plus command, but he could still throw it for strikes and miss a few bats or induce weak contact. Sort of like your number 4 starter type in a really good rotation. Even in his prime, there was always somebody you'd rather give the ball to, if you could. But when it was his turn to pitch, you felt no real need to skip him. He kept you in the game and gave you a chance to win, after all, even if he didn't dominate.
But now, his fastball just doesn't have much bite or life or movement. And unless he can learn to live on the corners, it just gets hammered. But living on the corners takes the kind of command he never developed in the first place. You really gotta develop those secondary pitches if you are going to stay in the game at that point. Otherwise it's time to hang it up, and live off your memories of the Glory Days.
Time does that to most pitchers eventually. It also does it to some politicians, I think.

(24,324 posts)Minor league, however.. I can no longer stand watching MLB.. Bunch of egotistical, testosterone filled millionaires... plus the camera work just sucks....
Anyway........
The 1st half of your description had me thinking of Greg Maddox (NOT a blistering overpowering fastball) Of course, there is then the other... I mean like is crooked hat.. L< )))))))
Maybe some of it does apply to Biden. I am not sure....
I don;t know for whom I would vote if I had to vote now..
They almost ALL would do just fine as President.. amazing isn;t it.
So therefore.....
WHO is the strongest to beat the sick monster... ????

Still In Wisconsin
(4,450 posts)bunch of trash-ballers who had better hit their spots, keep it down and on the black. Well, everyone but Brandon Woodruff who throws in the upper 90s when he's on, but I digress.
I get the analogy, but to carry it a step further, let's say Biden's a lefty with a decent slider and two-seamer with some sink. Our opponent can't hit Lefties. Can't hit them to save his life. So while we probably have candidates with better stuff, I think Biden hits Drumpf where he's weak. He will leave a few out over the plate, god knows, but I think he's still a decent candidate vs. the Donald.

(145,481 posts)I met Biden in person at a private fundraiser at a lawyer's condo just after the Houston debate. Biden has not lost anything. Biden spoke to the group and did a great job. Biden is the most electable candidate that the party has which is why trump is so afraid of Biden

Politicians don't use up anything - they learn more and get more wisdom. Doing what they do does not in itself weaken them.

(3,678 posts)That goes for all our people, IMO.
Ideally, we shouldn't lower the bar for our presidency to "people who have dementia and aren't named Trump," but that's kind of where we are at the moment, eh? :p
We have to get the criminal out of the White House. Dementia can be managed if that's where Biden (or any of them) wind up since they're so damn old.
