Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumI have seen bits and pieces of Hunter Bidens interview.. and he did a good job
He is a grown man, making his own decisions.. and he takes responsibility for that, and was at the end of his 5 year stint on the board in the Ukraine. and did not reup for the board because his Dad was running for office.. that was April by the way.. and he got zero dollars from China not the one and half billion that Trump was lying about.. so Hunter.. good on you..
Now heads up everyone.. all our people have extended families even those who have not had to answer many questions yet.. have extended families .. and with that comes smear attempts.. the republicans have it all in their back pocket..

(5,599 posts)Wrong but Im not middle of the road independent. I think Hunter Biden is a liability to Joe, from his personal life to his work history. Trump will keep beating this drum all the way to the general like the emails. I am sick about it, but you are losing if you are explaining. I know we want to spin this as ok, but its not. Its not ok for Ivanka and Don Jr. and its not ok for Hunter.

(41,832 posts)So Hunter Biden went to Georgetown, Yale Law, served in the Navy, was VP of MBNA America, Vice-Chair for Amtrack, Chair of the UN World Food Program and worked for one of the most prestigious law firms in the nation, yet he isn't qualified to sit on a gas company board?

(5,599 posts)The forest for the trees. Trump is going to use this info to make Biden less palatable to those disaffected Republicans and independents. Lets not add that Biden himself has not helped matters with some of his stories on the trail and less than stellar showing during the debates. I am for Biden because I think he has the best chance, but I can also see that this is not good for Biden to have his name tied to this negativity on a daily basis. I am panicked that Trump has a chance to win even with all of his issues. How are we in this predicament with 25 candidates???? I want the best candidate to beat Trump,, that is still Biden right now. I love Buttigieg but he is a long shot.
No Republican who is sick of Trump is going to vote for Warren, and few independents that lean right. We need to be pragmatic. The 5-7% will determine the Presidency. Who will those people vote for? I know that Dems will vote for whoever is the nominee. I know thats who Im voting for.

(10,903 posts)Like the OP said, if you're explaining, you're losing.
By extending this into another news cycle, he's helping to make it a bigger issue than it should be.

(9,116 posts)Even if Hunter was hired to get Ukraine access to Joe Biden, the point is moot because Joe didn't give those assclowns the access.

(5,599 posts)Another Trump term terrifies me. We need to be hardcore about removing this guy. We have 5-7% determining the outcome. Everyone else is entrenched for their team. I will be voting for anyone with a D by their name

(2,061 posts)From what I have seen of the interview we should have one job right now. Get people to watch it. The pieces I have seen were excellent. Hunter comes of as an intelligent salt of the earth kind of guy. Blunt yet respectful. I was really impressed. He seemed to be very comfortable in his own skin without the hint of arrogance. The problem is that an overwhelming majority of people will not see the interview. To them it will just be the image of Hunter having to be sent out to help when that really isn't the case.
Get people to watch it. It's important.

(2,061 posts)From the pieces I've seen Hunter did better than I ever expected. Some of the clips are of hard questions. He answered so clearly using so few words. Really came off as a salt of the earth kind of person with absolutely nothing to hide.
The more people who watch it the better. I never thought I would have felt this way when I woke up this morning and heard the teasers for the interview. And the contrast between Hunter and Trumps kids....... Wow.

(297,322 posts)on "Whose idea was it for Hunter to do the interview for today".. or whatever it said. I was hoping that the actual interview would be good and override the complaints..
I see some on here whose minds weren't changed.. course they never liked Joe Biden, either.

(2,061 posts)I have paid somewhat close attention to politics for a couple of decades. I could talk about some of the problems I have with Biden but his positives far outweigh them. I also might be voting for him in the primary. There is just about nothing he could do that would anger me over his full body of work. I keep most of my negative comments about him to myself because I do not want to say anything that might turn voters off to him. At this point his experience and knowledge of the federal government from the top down, his relationships on the world stage, and his steady demeanor, make him uniquely qualified for the job above all other candidate.
Other than Sanders and Tulsi I really like our field. All of them have something excellent to bring to the conversation and are doing a great job of speaking to issues I care about.
My negative comments often revolve around campaign decisions, not history.

(5,599 posts)Run against Hillary. That being said Hunter came across terrible to me. I am suspicious of this poster saying everyone should see it. This does Biden no favors and the timing couldnt be worse. Salt of the earth??? More like entitled. Ugh, I hope Im wrong but I dont think so
