I would not wish the job of President after Trump on my worst enemy

We are asking someone to take up a thankless job.. that they will have to deal with the consequences Trump and his followers have made.. trying to shovel that elephant crap up.. I have chosen who I think could best handle it.. but honest to pete.. I think all of them should have their heads examined for taking this mess on.. having said that.. they are patriots above all else.... that is all I can figure.. they are the people who run out of the foxhole shouting to take on the enemy.. God be with all of them..

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

Bush left us in an economic crisis. It was truly a dark time in our history. Obama steadied the ship and pulled us through. Now someone is going to have to take over after Trump. If the economy goes down it is only going to be that much more difficult.

It's one of the reasons I like Biden so much for the job. I think he embodies stability and has the knowledge of all aspects of the game.

They run on how they will fix problems we have but they won't get a chance to try because the whole government needs to be rebuilt from scratch first.
And if Trump loses, it will be a struggle to remove him and he will have 2 months to do as much damage to the country as he can before he leaves.

Wed Oct 9, 2019, 11:11 AM
Oct 2019

This is one of the reasons why I think that Joe Biden is the best candidate. Who ever is the nominee will have to be prepared to fix all of the damage that trump has done to our government.

Perhaps the most straightforward and least complicated undertaking, since it would be entirely within the next president’s purview, is rebuilding the executive branch from the corrupted ruin Trump will leave behind.

One of the most underreported stories about the Trump administration is its basic incompetence. Perhaps Trump’s biggest con of all was convincing his supporters that he was some sort of business wizard with a genius for management. In truth, the Trump Organization was a mom-and-pop family business that he repeatedly micromanaged to the brink of collapse. He is doing exactly the same with the government of the United States.

The White House itself is less like “The West Wing” than “Game of Thrones.” Courtiers vie for the favor of the Mad King, unable or unwilling to perform normal duties for fear of risking Trump’s ire. Usually, the White House is a place where information from outside sources is synthesized and digested so the president can make the best possible decisions. Under Trump, the flow is reversed — his whims, however ill-informed or contradictory or just plain loopy, are tweeted out and must be made into policy.

Agencies vital to our national security — including the Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Emergency Management Agency — lumber along, month after month, without permanent leadership. “It’s easier to make moves when they’re acting,” Trump has said, but really the situation reflects his own insecurity. By keeping his underlings weak and beholden only to him, he limits their power — and thus hamstrings the departments they nominally lead.

Joe Biden is the best candidate to repair the damage done by trump. I think that the repair of this damage will keep the next Democratic President very busy.

I posted when Biden first ran, that it was a hell of thing we are asking of him.. he could have sat on his laurels in his twilight years.. and for that matter.. Sanders and Warren also.. but the truth be told.. we are going to need that experience to right the ship.. Joe knows where all the buttons are which ones he can push..and has built up over the decades relationships with other countries and their leaders up and down.. and we are going to need him to do that..

was entrusted with the post-Iraq jumble and went there eight times. He also gave a big hand with
The Recovery Act. So he has been directly involved with mop up before and he is entirely prepared for what lies ahead now.

There is no candidate with Joe’s knowledge of how government works and how to rebuild our alliances and put our enemies in their place with the message that they can not mess with America anymore.

This absolutely will be a most thankless job to undertake. The damage is massive, getting worse everyday. The foreign policy implications are gargantuan, not to mention the damage done domestically--to the agencies meant to protect us and the environment--left in tatters. Trump has been the enemy within who with ignorance and malice has split the country wide open weakening our defenses, making a mockery of our institutions.

Whoever our nominee is will spend considerable time and gobs of energy to put the pieces back together.

God help us all. This will be a Herculean task.

I hope he picks Buttigieg (sp?)to be his running mate.. because he could be such a great person to hand off to, we have to look at the long plan, and it will take more than 4 years or even 8 years to make all the repairs to the government that this monster has managed to damage..

Literally the most mundane, normal behavior in the next President will be hailed as "Presidential".

The simplest things... like returning to the Paris Accord, will be praised at the level of major achievements.

It will be very easy for the next President to have a high approval rating - simply by acting like a normal human being.
