(42,862 posts)You're right. This is another clue that things are worse than they're letting on... or at least that's how it seems to me. I'm just sharing my opinion on the matter.

(19,204 posts)but I hope he's going to be alright. The last I heard he had two stents inserted. I honestly hope things aren't any worse than that. Thumbs up, Bernie.

(25,183 posts)He raised a lot of money in the third quarter. TV ad spending should not be affected solely by a minor medical issue.
And if Sen. Sanders is saving money to use for a future run at elective office, which one would it be?

They are probably just putting things on hold for now to see what path the future brings but u never know, and only the patient and doctors really know his condition.

(10,832 posts)probably pulling back until they know when, in fact, Sanders will hit the campaign trail again. Thus far, the staff has minimized the medical ramifications though I don't consider an arterial blockage 'minor' in nature.
Frankly, this is the problem with all the tight-lipped, hush-hush business surrounding the initial medical report. Speculation is bound to go viral and doubts about the veracity of the details mount.
Now, there's also the possibly they (the staff) just don't know and Sanders has not given a clear message about his future campaign plans. The Senator is crusty and stubborn; he may push out regardless of any medical advice.
That being said, time will tell. If Bernie makes the debate on October 15th, this will likely all quiet down.

(4,875 posts)WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. presidential candidate Bernie Sanders, who was treated on Tuesday for a blocked artery after experiencing chest pain, will participate in the fourth Democratic debate on Oct. 15, his campaign said on Thursday.
Sanders, 78, was taken to a hospital while in Las Vegas for campaign events, and had two stents inserted to clear the blockage.
He had canceled campaign events until further notice, but an aide said the U.S. senator from Vermont would be back in time for the debate featuring 12 of the top candidates for the Democratic nomination to challenge Republican President Donald Trump in 2020.
He will be at the debate, a campaign spokeswoman said.
