I worked on the Hill for a number of years and it wasn't uncommon to hear stories congresspeople who treated their staff members like crap - well beyond what people otherwise think of as a "tough boss." That said, the fact that it happens frequently doesn't make it right, and there were also examples of people who were terrific to their employees.
