Share your past encounters with the presidential candidates.

Me...

In January, 2007, Sen. Barack Obama spoke at a fundraiser for Barbara Boxer when SF District Attorney Kamala Harris pushed past me and the rest of the crowd to meet Obama at the rope line. Two years later, I spent an evening in a Noe Valley living room as she began her campaign for State Attorney General.

Do you have any stories about the field to share?

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

I had a very pleasant phone conversation with Amy Klobuchar. But that's it. I've never encountered any of the others.

It was wonderful. I didn't speak to him, because I figured the African Americans there ought to have first dibs on him. I have no regrets, because at least I was in the same room with him.

I was a huge supporter of Howard Dean, and met him several times. I like him a lot. Too bad he wasn't our nominee.

But never at the same time, discovered it in the Maraniss book. He lived one block away from me, too, which I discovered when I read Dreams From My Father. So close...
