I don't think people understand what a brokered convention looks like. The closest we've seen recently was 1980 and even that wasn't a brokered convention. Essentially, the entire duration of the convention would be spent on attempting to get enough delegates to actually win the nomination. It would be a mess of a fight with a chaotic atmosphere and, probably, backroom deals that burn the candidates who don't manage to get the delegates needed.

There's a reason brokered conventions are a thing of the past an it's because, in the modern era of politics, it's an utter disaster from the optics point of view. Worse, it allows little time for campaigns to reconcile and unite around the nominee. That's what the modern convention is all about - putting everything aside and going full throttle in support of the nominee. That was the case in 2008 after the bitter primary fight between Obama and Clinton and it was what we saw with the GOP in 2016 with Trump.

A brokered convention, though? It doesn't happen. It's too fresh in the minds of many.

The last actual brokered convention for either party was 1952. But things have changed so much that if it were to happen today, it'd be an utter disaster for the Democrats.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

don't. We need indepependentsand moderates too. Thus, it is going to be a tough election...and we need three states in our column...the blue wall will do it. People hate it when I say that IMHO...Biden will be the nominee or we will lose...particularly if it is a brokered convention that ignroes the will of the AA community. I will vote blue and work my ass off for whomever...but incumbents win much of the time. We have to stop thinking that anyone can beat Trump because it is not true.

I really like Joe, so he's my preference, but Liz is a great candidate as well. I really think it will be one of these 2. I'll still be around even if it's not - even if it's Sanders and he's the worst in my book of those who are still in play. #BLUE2020 is my mantra and I'm not giving up on that - no way.
