Georgia's longest serving legislator endorses Joe Biden
https://www.ajc.com/blog/politics/georgia-longest-serving-legislator-endorses-joe-biden/OluIVc5SopXctWF5GUGSPJ/State Rep. Calvin Smyre, the longest-serving member of the Georgia Legislature and one of the states most influential Democrats, said Tuesday he is endorsing former Vice President Joe Bidens campaign for president.
Smyre, the dean of the Georgia House, told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution he was drawn to Biden because of his decades of experience in the U.S. Senate and tenure as President Barack Obamas No. 2.
Hes got the stature, the experience and the knowledge, said Smyre. He meets all the requirements for a president. Hes endured difficult times and weathered personal storms. Weve got a cadre of candidates running, but Joe Biden is the one who wont need on the job training.
The endorsement comes as Bidens wife, Dr. Jill Biden, is set to arrive in Atlanta Tuesday for a fundraiser. Smyre joins a group of prominent Georgia supporters of Biden that includes Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms and former U.S. Sen. Max Cleland.

....and the American hero Max Cleland.
Every time I see his name I think of what that scumbag Chambliss did to him in 2002. Here he lost both legs and an arm in Vietnam in his early 20s, and Chambliss publicly questioned his patriotism! Damn, politics can really suck!
