Sanders gains on Biden's lead in new poll

Former Vice President Joe Biden is leading the 2020 Democratic presidential field, according to a new poll that also shows support for Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) growing.

Just less than one-third of Democratic primary voters surveyed — 31 percent — said they support Biden, according to the Emerson poll released Tuesday, relatively unchanged from July.

But Sanders saw a 4-point uptick since last month, rising to 24 percent in the new survey.

It's the second Emerson poll in a row in which Sanders saw an increase in support.

What does Biden offer that is better than any other candidate? I just want to understand what people see in Biden that I fail to see. This is a genuine question, I am not trying to bash, or anything, I just want to know what propels people to such a passionate support, so passionate that all gaffs are ignored.

DISCLAIMER: I will vote for Biden if he becomes the nominee, I liked him as a VP, still think he is a man with good intentions, I just think he is too ingrained in the old ways, in the status quo, but I will vote for him if he wins the nomination, no doubt.

president for everyone...very important. we need moderate voters and he appeals to them....you know the kind that gave us the house and if we go too far left, will cause us to lose the house. We are a big tent and need to run a moderate candidate. JoeBiden has been around for years...won't be easy for the GOP to attack him.

Also, I agree with him on the ACA too...not for MFA...I really like the guy. He has always tried to do the right thing...he can beat Trump...none of the others will IMHO...of course I will work for the nominee's election and vote for them no matter who wins...but I think only Biden can win the three states we need to stop Trump. Also, I think Biden can help with the Senate...almost as important as the presidency.

2. Biden forgets there is a new wave of voters, the young people who do not want to pay

student loans, and Biden doesn't want to do much about it.

Yesterday he explained that he intends to make "2-year" community college free, and then they can go to the University to finish the last two years. OK Mr. Biden, when was the last time you know of anyone who completed two years of community college and had any university accept ALL of the credits? That person would most probably have three, not two, more years of university.

So many families have lost their 401K savings, or had to sell a property to help pay for their kids outrageous student loans. It has to stop.
