"This is me, a conservative, going to an Elizabeth Warren rally because . . . "

Going on Twitter to see if anyone mentioned TV coverage of the rally, I ran into this post and pictures from a couple hours before the rally began.

This is me, a Conservative, going to an Elizabeth Warren rally in Seattle because she is the most qualified presidential candidate, a smart badass woman, who will be Trump’s toughest opponent.

Voting for the best candidate sometimes means you leave your political party behind.
If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

Call me suspicious, but all of it could be bunk. Could be they've decided to try to pick their opponent, and this is one method. Conservatives don't generally boast of their defection. May not be a conservative, but a partisan who is boosting her choice. Something doesn't seem right to me at least.

And I don't know any progressive who would want to present herself publicly as a conservative.

Well not just one...she reminds me of “Leslie Knope” from the tv show “Park and Recreation”.
Binders full of plans all in alphabetical and numerical order.

What we need now!

8. I think a lot of republican women
Sun Aug 25, 2019, 06:30 PM

Could come over and vote for one of the Democratic women running.

I also think many voters from those states that some say only "Biden" can win, would vote for a women such as Warren, Harris or Klobuchar. The primaries are still a long ways away, and I really do think these three women have as good a chance as any of the men ruining for the nomination.

They are my top three choices.

energetic, personable, an order of magnitude more intelligent than Trump, and plans to address things that will actually make our lives materially better.

Sure, I know she'll ultimately have to negotiate with both House and Senate - that's how our founders created this republic - to allow for plenty of vigorous debate followed by compromise.

But Warren knows where we need to go and she is doing a good job setting the vision.

11. There really is no 1960 GOP any longer...
Sun Aug 25, 2019, 07:11 PM

These "conservative" voices have lost their cover. The GOP of the 1960's has morphed into this disgusting, greedy, evil, irresponsible hate party of today. I am thinking "conservative" is a term that should be just as welcome in the Democratic Party as anywhere else. We ARE conservative, but we are also willing to change our priorities to divert our tax dollars to the peoples' needs, and NOT to the industrial complex and corporate wishes. Enough is enough. It's time to break this 50-50 tax split between bombs and the people. It's a waste, and a waste of life as well. Time to make BIG CHANGES in the country, and that's what Elizabeth Warren is talking about!

12. Voting for the best candidate means you don't belong to any party
Sun Aug 25, 2019, 07:11 PM
Aug 2019

It means that you understand very well that you are a USA citizen and that you are going to vote for the person you feel is better for your country, for the people, who is not a crook, who is not a racist, etc., one who will make you proud when he/she meets with World leaders.

No one should "have" a party, that is part of the problem, we have to recognize when politicians, regardless of political party are to no good and then we dismiss them, we vote for the best.

Having said that, at this time in US history I cannot find anyone in the republican party that I would vote for, but I refuse to "have" a political party.

14. If just some of the Republican women who voted for Trump...

... in 2016, can't hold their noses and look away any longer, and cross over for Warren in 2020, then Trump will get demolished.

There'll be too much of a surge even for gerrymandering and Crosscheck to steal.

There's a couple of women at my workplace who both supported Trump in 2016, who already have Warren stickers on their cars. Just a small sample size, but interesting (and very encouraging) to see.
