Cory Booker attacks the 'moral vandalism' of Trump in campaign stop in Milwaukee
Cory Booker condemned the "corrosive fear" caused by gun violence and sharply criticized President Donald Trump during a campaign stop in Milwaukee on Sunday afternoon in a building renovated after the Sherman Park violence three years ago.
"We will not beat him by fighting him with his tactics," Booker said of Trump. "That's what he wants."
Referring to the recent shootings in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio, Booker said, "People are giving in to toxic, corrosive fear."
"I want to be president because I feel this urgency every day. I'm tired of going around my city and seeing shrines to children killed in my streets," he said. "I'm tired of seeing a nation that is being so pulled and dragged into the shackles of fear because of what we saw in the last two weeks."
