Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumA well-intentioned Harris tweet, but this isn't about "we."
It's about Trump ending the MAGAt rallies and tweets...which we already know will not happen...and McConnell actually taking votes in the Senate on House-approved legislation, which is not likely to happen either."We" aren't the problem. The problem is Trump, McConnell, and every complicit Republican.
@KamalaHarris
According to authorities, 9 people were killed and 26 were injured in the Dayton shooting. It lasted less than a minute.
Less than a minute.
We cannot remain idle and allow this level of carnage to ravage our communities. We need courage. We need to act.

(13,390 posts)whose country and culture was not able to muster the votes to prevent the rise of a blatantly bigoted white supremacist to the presidency.
Too many "WEs" have allowed casual racism and misogyny to thrive below the surface of what we once believed were robust victories.
We have let the jokes of elders or other people around us slide - because "they come from a different time or place" and they don't know any better. Or maybe they didn't really mean it that way.
We (mostly white people) have repeatedly defended and denied bigotry when people of color have pointed it out- because it hurt our feelings, or we knew acknowledging it might be unpopular, or it might interfere with our standing, or it might interfere with our goals and good intentions, or....
There are probably as many reasons as there are people, and "we" have not tried hard enough to dispell falsehoods and challenge what we know to be wrong.
I include myself in this because I am white and I know I have not tried hard enough myself. I am trying to do better. Harris and Warren are both carrying the message very effectively.
If only more white people would listen!
