It came from Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) after Delaney had spent much of the night trying to make the case that the proposals from the two leading liberals onstage Warren and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) are unrealistic.
You know, I dont understand why anybody goes to all the trouble of running for president of the United States just to talk about what we really cant do and shouldnt fight for, Warren said. I dont get it.
Delaney didnt get a chance to respond on Tuesday night, but he did so Wednesday morning during an appearance on Fox News a network that Warren has characterized as a hate-for-profit racket that gives a megaphone to racists and conspiracists.

Sometimes would-be office-holders ideologically aligned with the GOP will run as a Dem, knowing their chances of winning are better running blue than red in this state.
For example, former Governor William Donald Schaefer was rumored to be a Repug originally.
Charlie Pierce said it best last night on MSNBC: Delaney isn't even a moderate Dem; he's a conservative... a Gerald Ford conservative.

I don't think that realists who want to actually get things done are inferior to those who offer up promises they know will never soon happen, if ever.

(3,022 posts)I can see what you are saying. The reality in this case is Delaney is vastly inferior to Senator Warren.

Both Warren and Bernie know perfectly well that Presidents are not Dictators and don't just dump a plan on Congress to watch it grow into fulfillment.
Look at what we went through with the relatively mild changes Obamacare asked for. And they're still trying to kill it.
One step at a time.
