For awhile this was my tiny family: mom, grandma, auntie. It was like the opening scene of Wonder Woman with brilliant women run around an all-female island helping each other succeed. It’s all I knew & only now do I know how lucky I was to have such strong female role models. 1/

And how having this representation shaped me. I learned that nothing came easily, but through them I also saw possibility. I could literally see my own potential, and all of the different ways that I could be anything and everything, which they constantly reminded me. 2/

I look at the little girl in this photo, and I think about my daughters, and all of the little girls across the country who now have that exact same opportunity — to see six women running for president, and know nothing other than fierce women running shit.
