Sherrod Brown Doesn't Think Joe Biden Will Be the Nominee

New York Times

EL PASO, Tex. — As 20 Democrats debated on national television, Senator Sherrod Brown of Ohio and his wife, the Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist Connie Schultz, texted each other a running critique of the candidates.

This was not just another politically engaged couple talking about the 2020 race.

“You can’t help but think, ‘I could have done that better,’” Mr. Brown recalled in an interview.

“This is the first time I really thought, ‘I wish you were up there,’” Ms. Schultz told her husband. She had watched the debates in June at their home in Cleveland, while Mr. Brown, who considered but passed on a 2020 run, was in Washington, where the Senate was in session.

But you didn't do it better. You didn't do it at all.

Sherrod Brown is no Hillary Clinton, it seems.

but it is possible that he might be doing better than those other than Biden and pose a real serious challenge to him. we will never know. and we need him in the senate anyways.

And I look forward to the upcoming debates. Biden needs to stop with the warm rhetoric and really tell it like it is.

Just my two cents. Please don’t think this is bashing, because it isn’t.

I really, really wish those who are in love with Biden would think a bit.

We do NOT need another candidate over the age of 70.

It is long past time to pass the torch to a new generation, as one young President said many decades ago.

15. The Presidency is not "passed on" to anybody in this democracy. This is not the British Monarchy
Mon Jul 29, 2019, 01:58 AM

where the right to be king is passed down to the chosen heir.

This Presidency is earned, one vote at a time. The majority gets to decide. This is America.

as very much a "passing on" from Obama to Biden.

Which is actually the least of why I do not support Biden.

Frankly, stating you think you could have done better when you didn't even have the guts to enter the presidential race is ridiculous - at least every candidate who stands on that stage had the guts to run.
