If our primary were to be held this Tuesday, I think I would vote for

Kamala.

This is where I am in late July of 2019, based on what I have been seeing, hearing and reading about the candidates here in this forum, online and on TV.

Here is my reasoning so far:

Warren is great but I am worried that her "plan for everything" might not go over well when we reach our 2020 election day. I love it but I don't think it is for everyone. And I fear that she will seem to some as "school teacher" instead of the way we see her, an impassioned candidate for the good of all Americans.

Joe is a nice guy and I always love him when he speaks. But my vote this time is for the future, not the past. I treasure him but I cannot vote for him to lead us into that future (unless, of course, he is chosen as our candidate).

I voted for Bernie in the 2016 Dem. primary, but I don't want him as our standard bearer now. He is totally right on so many things, but I feel we don't need the past, we need the future. And I say this as a voter who is his age.

At this point, Beto and Pete seem a bit too young and too inexperienced. I love them both but I can hear trump now talking like they are punk kids. But I view them as possible VP candidates.

The other candidates have not made that big an impression on me...yet...and I admit there may be lots of things that will sway me as time goes by.

OTOH

Kamala is a strong WOC who represents a hugely populated state with a huge diverse population. She is an outstanding senator. She is strong. She has a background as a prosecutor and has shown she is tough.

and, TRUMP IS AFRAID OF HER.

I think she is his worst nightmare as a candidate running against him. She will prosecute her case against him and it won't be pretty. She won't back down. He'll try the "nasty woman" routine and she'll let it roll off her back. She'll go after him in a way nobody has gone after him before. In short, I think she will be delightful.

So, there's my thinking. I'm gonna save this post and take it out and read it after the election to see if my reasoning was on target or not.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

5. what's wrong with being seen as a school teacher ? teachers are impassioned also

the fact that being seen as a school teacher is seen as a negative is a serious problem.

especially when things like being seen as some dumbfuck someone wants to have a beer with is seen as positive.

and is it a coincidence that school teachers have usually been women and that's why it came to be seen as negative.

6. You do realize that Beto served 3 times as long in Congress as Kamala has been there, right?

He served as much time there as Warren. The only two who served more who have any significant support are Biden and Bernie.

10. Then why not say you want a woman instead of falsely saying Beto is inexperienced?
