Dem strategist: Trump's "Squad" attacks a dry run to see what he could get away with against Harris

Speaking with host Alex Witt on Sunday afternoon, an MSNBC contributor speculated that Donald Trump’s racist attack on four female Democrats — none of whom are white — was a test run to see how far he can go attacking Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) should she be his opponent in the 2020 general election.

According to Democratic strategist Don Calloway, Trump may not have a grand strategy, but he’s in “campaign mode” which brings out his barely concealed inner-racist.

“I’m not one to ascribe a strategy to the president when it’s clear he’s not a deep thinker, but he is, however, in campaign mode,” he explained. “I see this as a good campaign device for him to gin up his base, fueled by the xenophobia and race-based hatred.”

He then added, “I see this as an early proxy for what he will probably intend to do in terms of otherizing and isolating Kamala Harris; this is just the shoot-around or the warm-up for that, if you will.”

I need to believe that Karma still exists in this world, that he can't get away with it forever. As of today, I have no evidence of that, but I just hold onto faith that one day, the ride will be over. I'm sure he'll do everything possible to seek attention and remain a disruptive force, but as long as he no longer wields power, he can be tuned out.

THIS is going to the ugliest election we've ever seen. If you thought 2016 was vicious and vulgar, I'm afraid we aint seen nothing yet. As much as he need to breathe, trump needs to win at all costs. National best interests be damned. He's in it for his ego.

But we cannot allow ourselves to be turned out completely by the mud-slinging, the name-calling, the bullying or the lies that you know trump will tell - or the shadow campaign his ass-lickers will undertake -- we must be steady in our resolve to oust this administration. Our lives - and those of our children and grandchildren - depend on it.

Buckle up and wear a hazmats suit, folks. This is just the beginning.

primary today, I would vote for:
