New NBC/WSJ poll: Breaking down a Trump-vs-Biden race (Biden +9, details on why)

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/meet-the-press/trump-trails-biden-warren-sanders-new-nbc-news-wall-street-n1029646

Biden’s larger lead over Trump is largely due to the former vice president's stronger performance among independent voters, whites and suburban residents than the rest of the Democratic field.

In a Trump-versus-Biden contest, the president has the advantage with men (51 percent to 42 percent), white voters (50 percent to 43 percent) and whites without college degrees (56 percent to 37 percent).

Biden, meanwhile, leads among African-American voters (85 percent to 9 percent), women (59 percent to 34 percent), suburban voters (49 percent to 43 percent) and independents (45 percent to 41 percent).

Against the other three Democratic contenders, however, Trump runs even or slightly leads among independent and suburban voters, and his advantage with white voters is in the double digits.

Editing to add a link to another thread I posted about this poll, an article from The Hill about Biden's lead over Trump compared to the three other Democratic candidates doing best in the polls:

34% if my math is correct. And the "education gap" is significant as well.

If you look at the spilt for all Whites, it is clear that White women of all educational levels are not carrying the load of creating and increasing that gender gap.

2020 ain't going to be a cakewalk. An incumbent comes into the race with distinct advantages, even an odious Donald Trump. He reportedly already has over a $100 million in his re-election coffers, not to mention the propaganda assaults that have already begun and the power of the bully pulpit that Trump has used to continuously promote himself.

This is going to be a bloody fight to the finish. We shouldn't kid ourselves or underestimate the lengths the GOP will go to stay in power. Even with a Mad King at the helm.

took in $97 million. Many democrats don't donate during party primaries. Trump's early money does not scare me, we will be able to match and exceed his money once all our guns are turned on him. What I am more concerned about is us picking a nominee that has a clear message and who will campaign everywhere and live on the campaign trail if needed.

Trump loves adoring crowds, so we know that he will be on the campaign trail and ignoring his day job. If our candidate takes stretches of days off the campaign trail, Trump and his thugs are going to paint that person as possibly ill with a medical condition, just like they did Hillary, with success, IMO.

On edit. We also can't have someone like Bernie in 2016 causing our presumptive nominee to burn funds that could have been directed toward the General.

primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

is selfish. That’s why we are here to start with.

I voted Bernie in 2016 in he primary but GLADLY voted for Hillary.

I voted for Gwen Graham in the 2018 gubernatorial primary but happily voted for Andrew Gillum in the general. Graham would’ve won but that’s another story.

Bottom line is that Democrats must vote for Democrats and not stay home!!!!

It and NV I believe were the only two states to flip senate seats from R to D in 2018, and AZ has another seat up for grabs in 2020. And most people there vote by mail. Hmm, coincidence?

Suburban voters.. Never saw this breakdown before.

Let's hope Biden only builds on that and no other candidates get to define Biden with their little scenarios.

primary today, I would vote for:
