The only reason I hedge on that at all is because I can see someone picking Castro. I still don't think so.

I'm also not positive our field has fully formed yet. If Biden comes back in the polls and Warren, Harris, and Biden are at around 20% or less, look for a big name to jump in late. Really late.

The only person I think I have a really good pick for is Harris. I think a Harris/Crowley ticket would be great.

There have been many ambitious VPs. Just cause one is ambitious doesn't mean one can't be loyal. Also, a VP candidate is usually one who is called on to go on the attack and fight. And we all know Harris can take it to someone.

We are in a primary right now. Sure, Harris is upstaging and taking it to Biden right now, as she should. But if Biden can win the nomination, all that changes as we move into the general election. Harris would be a smart pick for Biden and would be very loyal to him.

And yes, there are others who would be good picks for Biden too.

Harris simply challenged him on his OWN segregationists comments and record. She raised valid concerns. And Biden didn't know how to respond. Goodness, he even fell back on a states' rights defense.

Harris clearly stated that she didn't believe Biden was a racist. And if Biden (and his diehard supporters) can't deal with a polticial ally and friend challenging him, how in the world are they going to deal with Trump?

Harris is running in a primary against Biden. She wants the nomination just as much as Biden and has every right to challenge Biden as she did. And being challenged will only make Biden stronger if he ends up the nominee.

This is politics. And Biden knows this. I have no doubt that Harris will be high on his list for VP if he can win the nomination. Especially after what he saw from her in the debate. He knows she is a fighter.

He commented on working with segregationists. He essentially bragged about it and used it as an example of the "civility" he wants to return this nation too. He chose to make the remarks about segregationists.. No one forced him too.

And Harris was right to challenge him on those comments. No one is misrepresenting what Biden said or what his record is.

But I do agree that Biden will have strong people to choose from as would Harris or Warren or Sanders. If it is Biden though, Harris will be in the top 3.

different, and more sinister, than mentioning working with two segregationists.

But it seems you do get that he did not make racist remarks.

We simply disagree about whether or not her attack was transparent,

In any case,I think it’s best if the prez and VP are allies of sorts and I don’t foresee that chemistry
in a Biden-Harris match up.

When I look at a two person ticket, one of my expectations is the second person will follow the first and have an administration of their own. A ticket with one person being 78 years old and the other being around 70 years old would be sort of a hard sell, IMO. That is why I think Harris, Castro, Booker, Gabbard are likely better positioned to be the number two if they don't win number one. If Harris wins the nomination, then Klobuchar, Gabbard and O'Rouke become the best vice presidential options, IMO.

A ticket that can be viewed as having two people of the same political bent would likely have issue, as would one that don't have racial, ethnic and gender balance. Maybe some see that as an uninformed statement, but IMO, that is the world that we live in today.

However, Biden will be 78 on inauguration day, while Warren will be 71. It's not impossible to sell that ticket anyway -- after all, Trump will be 74 -- but I don't think either Biden or Warren would take the handicap. If either one is the nominee, they'll go for someone in their 40's or 50's.
