Related: About this forumWFP will endorse one of these six candidates for president
A few weeks ago, we released our candidate questionnaire and notified all the presidential campaigns, asking them to lay out their visions and their plans. Based on that review, and on input from supporters like you, WFPs leadership has invited the following six candidates to proceed to the next round of our endorsement process: Cory Booker, Julián Castro, Bill de Blasio, Kamala Harris, Bernie Sanders, and Elizabeth Warren.
Over the next few months, we are going to have a chance to ask the candidates questions, and to debate and deliberate among ourselves as a party in a way that we can be proud of. Were going to engage in meaningful debate, principled struggle, and not shy away from making a call when our people are demanding we do and the world is requiring it.
I want every single one of you to engage. Because if we do this right, I believe the 2020 election will one day be seen as a turning point in history.
Our goal is not only to win an election, but to build a society that works for the many and not the privileged few and to build a multiracial base of everyday people to do it. I cant wait to roll up my sleeves and begin that work with you.

(27,995 posts)We also believe the promise of our democracy has been broken when the views of a single wealthy donor can carry more weight that the needs of millions of hard working families. When a moneyed few can pull the strings in our democracy, they rewrite the rules of our economy to benefit them.
The wealthy few are making money by doing harm to working families, whether theyre outsourcing jobs, privatizing schools or poisoning the environment.
Working Families is a growing progressive political organization that fights for an economy that works for all of us, and a democracy in which every voice matters. We believe that our childrens life chances must not be determined at birth, and that America must be a nation that allows all its people to thrive.
