Dem Rep. Criticizes DNC Decision To Boycott Fox For Primary Debates

By Cristina Cabrera

March 11, 2019 10:39 am

Rep. Jim Himes (D-CT) said on Monday that the DNC made a mistake in choosing not to hold a primary debate on Fox News, even if Fox is “largely an instrument of the right wing.”

“I don’t think it was the right decision,” Himes told CNN’s Alisyn Camerota, pointing out that the network is watched by “millions and millions” of Americans.

The Connecticut congressman argued that if the DNC has to chance to pit its platform of universal health care and retirement security against “whatever nonsense is on the other side,” Democrats will come out looking stronger than the GOP.

“I don’t care what channel you’re on, we will have the appealing idea,” said Himes.

Watch his interview with Camerota below:

The daytime news section is not the same as the evening opinion section. Chris Wallace moderated a Clinton-Trump debate in 2016 and nobody complained about bias.

Democratic primary debate was in 2004. Why is this outrage a thing all of a sudden? Why is this suddenly a mistake?

When all fox news anchors can show respect by saying Democratic (fill in the blank) only then should a debate for them should be considered.

And as soon as the debate ends the Fox pundits start the spin.

still with trump are not going to be won over with a primary debate on fox. Ain't gonna happen.

They are fine with the orange creamsicle and everything he stands for. They are fine with him palling around with pedarists, showing dictator love, insulting our allies, his tax scam, his policies of keeping a list of journalists, raising the deficit, gutting nuclear security, filling the courts with religious judges, trade deficit, foreign money in his campaign, paying off porn stars, misogyny, racism, calling Nazi's very fine people, fast and loose with top secret info, sex slave operators selling access to him, his Russia connections, bankruptcies, university scam, grabbing women by the p*, walking in on teen beauty contestants in various stages of undress, hiring undocumented workers, not paying his taxes, hiring the most unquailed people to work in the WH, refusing to pay workers, buying his own books with campaign money, using his charity as his personal piggy bank, hurricane response in PR, violating the emoluments clause, transgender ban, Family separation policy, politicized government agencies, Comey's firing, Flynn. Manafort and others involved with his campaign pleading guilty to crimes, Melania and Ivanka hawking their wares from the WH, science denial, inviting Russia to hack the opposing political party, soliciting campaign donations from foreign countries, chaotic behavior, outlandish claims, & over 8,000 provable lies.

This is only what I can remember off the top of my head. So no, hosting a primary debate will not reach these people.
