in my opinion: Biden - Harris.

Also, again IMO, this sets up Harris as VP to become POTUS after Biden.

I love Kamala and as much as I love and admire her, the most important thing to me is taking control of the WH and removing the orange asshole and the rest of the swamp dweller.

PS: I have a Kamala "For the People" Harris bumper sticker on my car. She is my first choice, but I must put the goad of de-trumping the government ahead of my absolute admiration for her.

President Obama handily won 2 terms and Hillary Clinton received 3 Million more votes in the last election not to mention the diverse Congress we elected last Nov.

He won in '08 because of W, the recession, Palin and because he chose Biden as his running mate. He did well enough to get re-elected (and Mitt is a Mormon, which did not help him much), but my points stands that stars aligned in his favor.

Hillary was one of the strongest candidates to ever run for office, but she barely beat Bernie in the '16 primaries and lost the GE simply because she was a strong woman who scared the hell out of conservative America.

I like Harris and Pete very much, and can see either one in the top or bottom of the ticket. However, if you think a liberal ticket of a black woman and a gay man would not be a hard sell in America today, I honestly feel you are being too optimistic. Same thing with a Harris/Warren or viceversa.

Hate to say it, but America moves way too slowly when it comes to social change.

But either of those would make a great veep. I think it's Kamala's if she wants it but she probably won't, which is a shame. And if she keeps running on the Joe-is-a-racist theme as she seems to be she'll lose CA.

Sun Jul 7, 2019, 12:19 AM

I think Harris is Trump’s most formidable adversary. I like Biden, I honor Biden, but IMHO he is simply too much an easy target for Trump’s name-calling, insult slinging, shite catapulting machine. Biden’s support of the Iraq war, his support of the Clinton crime bill, his support of deregulation, the whole Anita Hill debacle (hypocrisy is concept beyond Republican comprehension) would all be used against him. But Trump has no filters. If he were up against Harris he would immediately slip into a pattern of sexist and racist attacks. It would all backfire on him. Moreover, Harris’ intellect and disciplined focus would destroy him in a live debate. She would galvanize the black vote and the youth.

Then you get round two. You have the vacuous cypher who happens to be named Mike Pence up against Pete Buttigieg. In other words, an idiot homophobe up against a younger, obviously more intelligent and articulate war veteran; someone who would resonate with younger voters.

I’m sure there are other factors in play, but frankly I think this could be a winning ticket.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

presence, exudes confidence and energy, and has obvious prosecutorial skills on exam and cross.

Buttigieg is highly intelligent, well spoken, has run a city. Neither has a national profile, or even close to the range of qualifications and experience Biden brings to his candidacy for the presidency.

Harris’s polling with the black electorate is still not high, and Buttigieg’s numbers are in the lowest of the low.

Together they would flop big time,

Try Buttigieg as VP for Warren or Harris as VP for Warren or some other combos.

There could come a time that either Harris or Buttigieg has a real shot in a General.

Harris will spend some more time in the senate building her resume and Buttigieg will become
a more experienced and known political figure.
