(11,744 posts)They are behind a lot of resistance against Trump in local jurisdictions.
The poll is a result from polling their own members so it is not indicative of the larger electorate.
They have on their website, a plan to make the primary as constructive as possible and to support whoever the Democratic candidate is against Trump.
Here is a statement:
Action by action, day by day, group by group, Indivisibles are remaking our democracy.
Brought together by a practical guide to resist the Trump agenda, Indivisible is a movement of thousands of group leaders and more than a million members taking regular, iterative, and increasingly complex actions to resist the GOPs agenda, elect local champions, and fight for progressive policies.
They make calls. They show up. They speak with their neighbors. They organize. And through that work, theyve built hundreds of mini-movements in support of their local values. And now, after practice, training, and repetition, theyve built lasting power on their home turf and a massive, collective political muscle ready to be exercised each and every day in every corner of the country.

(11,990 posts)Kind of surprising that so many won't consider Biden or Sanders in the primary, as those are the two who currently poll best against Trump (though others still poll well).
Not so surprising that the most not-considered is Williamson.

(5,376 posts)I mean Sanders and Biden are pretty much from opposite wings of the party.
For a progressive organization to have ~45% of their responders say they won't consider either seems strange at first glance. I mean, the only common factor I can think of is age.

(1,736 posts)Very prominent coalition that heightened resistance to the Trump presidency nationally and locally. Quite important not only for coalescing the blue wave in Congress in 2018 and for statewide offices like the defeat of Scott Walker.

(268 posts)Indivisible surveyed members of the Indivisible community to hear more about their thoughts after the first two presidential debates. After the debates on June 27, we sent a web poll out to our email list and received 18,500 responses from all 50 states, Puerto Rico, the District of Columbia and the Virgin Islands.
Nice numbers for Warren and Harris

(37,648 posts)Not registered voters, Democrats in general, likely voters. Progressives who joined an activist progressive group. This tells you who they perceive as being more progressive. Nothing more. And some may not even be voters.

(268 posts)To vote. Sounds like they are pretty involved.
Who We Are
Indivisible Project empowers Indivisible groups to achieve legislative and electoral victories through legislative advocacy and political campaign expertise, strategic and coordinated calls to action, and a targeted electoral program.
Indivisible Action provides Indivisible groups access to voter contact software, along with a suite of canvassing, phonebanking, and texting tools in support of progressive candidates. Indivisible Action also makes endorsements of federal and gubernatorial candidates nominated by their local Indivisible groups, vetted by our political team, and voted on by our supporters in the states and districts the candidate wishes to represent.

(37,648 posts)It may not be as important as for the GE, but polls about who they'd vote for don't mean much, unless the people being polled are voters.

No poll is as meaningful as elections. Polls are samples of trends, and as such, are advisory.
I believe this poll sheds light on some interesting trends. But it doesn't predict a primary winner.

(14,176 posts)although I suppose it's about wanting a more progressive candidate. The high percentage who won't vote for the junior senator from VT doesn't surprise me, though, because Indivisible is made up of people loyal to the Democratic party.

(1,736 posts)but the impact of Indivisible was very important in 2018. In our city alone, participation in Indivisible was a force behind several female candidates winning local offices. Its telling and unfortunate that on this thread there's so much dismissal of the organization.

(15,512 posts)First, I think Indivisible played a lead role in organizing the women's marches when Trump was inaugurated, so understandably, they have a strong interest in electing women;
Second, taking a poll after watching a debate is basically giving a people-meter impression about the performance. Nothing wrong with that, but such impressions fade, and the fact is that gains made by candidates after debate performances often fade with them.
Other than that, very interesting!
