A Challenge: Please tell me how the MorningConsult Poll actually works.

I was told that they don't actually call people, at least not for their `"16,000 registered voters interviewed" weekly poll.

I was told it's some sort of online poll and that it's not a truly random poll.

I have been trying to find out how people are selected to participate, but I can't find that info anywhere.

Do they "interview", whatever that means, the same people over and over?

Can any registered voter participate?

How are the people selected?

I keep asking this question and have not got an answer yet.

If we are all going to keep quoting the results of this poll, as I have myself, shouldn't we at least all know how it works?

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Morning_Consult

In 2015, the company published a report on the ‘Shy Trump’ voter in the Republican presidential primaries. The claim has since be debunked by political scientists.

2. Not so easy at all, that wikipedia article is extremely uninformative

I have read this Wikipedia article myself before, but it's very vague:

"Morning Consult conducts scientific online polling.[24] It uses a stratified sampling process and multiple nationally recognized vendors to access to tens of millions of Americans. After fielding, Morning Consult applies weights based on age, race/ethnicity, gender, educational attainment, and region (determined by 2016 Current Population Survey)."

So, again, is MorningConsult phoning 16,000 registered voters every week?

Are the same people interviewed over and over in subsequent weeks?

How are the registered voters selected?

Is it an online poll or not?

Can anyone participate in the poll?

If you have a link that actually does, I would appreciate if you shared it.

I think it is important to know how the MorningConsult Poll actually works, I would really like to have those questions definitively answered by an authoritative source.

but veddy interesting....

and then this...

Methodology...maybe this...I don't do online polling however...

Polling and methodology. Morning Consult conducts scientific online polling. It uses a stratified sampling process and multiple nationally recognized vendors to access to tens of millions of Americans. After fielding, Morning Consult applies weights based on age, race/ethnicity, gender, educational attainment, and region (determined by 2016 Current Population Survey).

I quoted that paragraph already in this thread.

So, no closer to actually knowing how the MorningConsult Poll actually works...

Do they phone 16,000 registered voters every week?

Or is it some form of online poll?

Can anyone participate in the poll?

How are the responders selected?

Do the poll the same people over and over in subsequent weeks?

Answers to these questions do not seem readily available, I even emailed contact.morningconsult.com days ago, but have recieved no form of a reply.

Thanks for keep bumping the thread though, perhaps someone will see it and be able to supply more information.

With all the Biden Harris posts, this thread will get lost downstream before anyone who can provide an answer even sees it.
