(14,594 posts)failures at race relations may not have won many people of color over, but he was absolutely honest about his own failings and that is so rare in any politician. I mean, that's the first time I can even remember that happening, and you've got to admire it.
It was a singular moment.
I don't think it hurt him a bit, but he will still have to really pour it on with the AA community to gain their trust and support.

I too was taken aback, but relieved to hear truth instead of obvious insulting to my intelligence lies.
