(24,122 posts)Bernie get in his eight years as President first and then Elizabeth would still be young enough to serve two terms as President.
But, if Liz wins the primary, which would not surprise me at all, as she is a highly accomplished, self-made woman, she would make an excellent President. She certainly has the best shot at shattering the "glass ceiling"... she would make this country so damn proud serving as the first female President!!

(42,862 posts)He won't survive beyond Super Tuesday. Besides, we still haven't seen hide-nor-hair of his full TAX RETURNS. I think it's time to face facts... He and Jane have NO INTENTION of releasing them. If they were going to release ten years of their FULL tax returns, they would have done so already.
Jane and he want us to imagine that they're searching through unmarked shoeboxes of paperwork stored in their attic... only... this is not 1968. Neither he nor Jane are the technological Luddites that they're pretending to be.
There is NO "tweaking" or "adjusting" or "finalizing" or polishing that needs to be done. Fact of the matter is... if those tax returns were good enough for the IRS, then they are good enough to present to the American people.
Where are the TAX RETURNS? What are he and Jane afraid of letting us see? The American people deserve to know where their money comes from, whether taxes were paid properly and promptly, where it's being saved (domestic or offshore), and where/how it's being invested.
Yet all we hear is excuse after excuse and delay upon delay. It looks fishy.

(24,122 posts)including the 2018 tax year, which likely has yet to be filed with the IRS. I'll be disappointed and, quite frankly, surprised if Bernie doesn't provide at least some form of summary tax info prior to the first debate.

I'm certain that Biden is more than capable to responding from the bashing from either direction.

(24,122 posts)Is he a bit status-quo? Perhaps, when you compare him to a true, long-time progressive candidate like Bernie. But, that's not a dig at Biden... he just has a different political viewpoint, to which he's entitled. He certainly doesn't deserve to be ridiculed for it.

(731 posts)Progress requires positive accomplishments in moving things forward.
In my estimation, both HRC and Joe Biden are far more progressive than the junior Senator from Vermont.

(731 posts)Setting back progress is regressive.
Advocating for "Democratic Socialism" is also regressive. As are isolationism and being anti-trade.
Ties to the NRA, selective support for yuge defense spending (when it is in your district), calling civil rights "identity politics," comforting folks who are uncomfortable voting for blacks, and a lack of financial transparency are not "progressive" stances.
And resorting to populism is the least progressive tactic of all.
