Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumGuillibrand is REALLY PISSING ME OFF. This is not the GUILLIBRAND HOUR. She is rude !!
I just can't support someone who is not honest. She knows the rules and she is shouting over the others. Her opinions and statements have NOT "turned me on" ..... she just want her voice out there because she is not well known and low in the polls.
This is just my opinion and I hope I'm not seen as Anti-Dem. I love my Dems !!!

She is an extremely ambitious politician and it really shows. If she'd just interrupted one time, it might not have bothered me, but she did it over and over again. Not an appealing trait in someone who wants to President of the United States.

(10,839 posts)She's coming across desperate rather than strong, rude rather than passionate. A good part of this is gender-bias. But it is what it is.
That being said, I'm sure Gillibrand feels she has nothing to lose at this point. She's getting her voice heard, one way or the other.

(42,770 posts)tone deaf on the interrupting. I am tired of yellers. Mayor Pete really stood out. He never yelled and didn't act shaky and frantic. People think it's appealing but it's not to the average person. They want a calm thoughtful person not the Energizer bunny.

(47,602 posts)it was de Blasio who did a lot of butting in, but I know what you mean about women being perceived differently than men.
Tonight, I found Gillibrand to be excessively rude, which made it hard to actually listen to what she had to say.

(47,602 posts)It looked like "Me, me, me, call on me!!!" I think she went into the debate expecting to be marginalized and was determined not to be ignored. Not a great way to get attention, especially in a presidential race.

(87 posts)Shes quite well liked by New Yorkers as a senator and provides excellent constituent service and votes the will of her supporters. Shes going to be a NY senator for many terms and the nastiness towards her here feels super sexist. Im not supporting her for president but lol at the idea of primarying her. In your dreams.

(779 posts)Talking past time limits and over the debate moderators, etc. They want to get their point across and are very competetive about it. It's practically the norm in presidential debates.
That being said, she comes across as wonky and not charismatic enough. It's not going to be her.

(4,341 posts)Once she stops talking the blinking stops.
According to studies, people who blink repeatedly when they talk is because they are lying.
In her defense to your comment, they do that because they are not being called, and they need the cameras. Bill de Blasio did that yesterday but he was very effective when he did, Gillibrand was just, Gillibrand.
