Seth Moulton Missed The First Debate. He Doesn't Think It Matters.

US News & World Report

MIAMI – WHEN AMY Klobuchar was given the chance to clash with Elizabeth Warren over her pricey policy promises at the outset of the first Democratic presidential primary debate, she passed.

But a mile and a half south of the debate site, in the comfortable confines of a high-rise Airbnb condo rental that overlooked the city's glitzy skyline, Seth Moulton easily obliged.

"You could literally end poverty in America for five or six years for what she's going to give to kids who are trying to pay for their own college," Moulton says referring to the Massachusetts' senator's free college plan. "Half of America goes to college and it's not the bottom half."
If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

we need universal healthcare, education, poverty, bolstering Social Security, jobs training, childcare, deficit reduction, national debt reduction, climate change, etc.

Point is, I want to see free college and some help with debt reduction for those who truly need it. But, right now, I think that wealth tax Warren is touting -- and other tax increases we need to pursue -- are needed for the issues above.

In that respect, Moulton has a point, but virtually no chance of getting nomination or even becoming noticed.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

but promising to end poverty in America (by money) shreds a candidate’s, any candidate’s, credibility. So does saying $x trillion will end proverty.

Those who went after Nancy Pelosi are at the bottom of my list.

Making sure people can get the education they want or need to succeed will do a lot towards ending poverty — and for longer than just five years.
