I was impressed enough with Julian Castro last night to change my preference to him for a day

What's that mean? I dunno. I'm still ridin' with Biden but I wish DU would let us display our top two or three so some of these lower tier candidates could get a little love on DU.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

and have been for a few years because I thought he was going to be the VP nominee in 16. I'd imagined him to be fairly bland, but he's not. In addition to having the best immigration policy in the field, he also has a comprehensive, smart housing policy that's probably the best of the candidates.

He's not my first choice right now, but he's a fine, fine candidate.

16. I don't like ambush politics

Like Harris, Castro used ambush politics. I don't like it, and I hope the next debate rules are changed, so that if candidates speak out of turn, they lose their turn. It leads to chaos, as we witnessed Thursday night. If you can't make a compelling argument without attacking a rival, you will not get my support. We've already seen that picture show, and it's turned the presidency into a reality show. We can, and we must do better.
