For me I thought Beto, Klobuchar, and Tulsi Gabbard as I had high hopes for these 3.

(34,462 posts)The format doesnt give candidates a chance to get their message across well. 3 debates with 7 candidates would have been better IMHO.

(21,643 posts)I gotta hand it to Jay Inslee though. He really seized the moment when, on being asked what the greatest threat to America was, he said:

(47,502 posts)Hard to reply. I was going to say diBlasio, Gabbard, Delaney
But I think that when we mean disappointing we think about someone we thought was promising and I would put Beto and Inslee.

(2,113 posts)DeBlasio just for being rude and obnoxious in general. Castro for using an opportunity for telling people why the should support him to attack Beto. Same thing with Booker to a lesser extent.
I think Beto had the best closing statement and his comments on Impeachment and holding Trump accountable were the strongest against Trump and that will resonate with viewers.

(54,035 posts)Of course that's all practical. O'Rourke speaking Spanish on stage, while brilliant, was a stealth nudge to push Castro out. There's only room for one Texan in this ecosystem

(22,236 posts)and he came off to me as an embarrassment to our Party.
I didn't think Beto had a good night, but he always seems to be one of those guys that starts off really slow during an interview and then comes on very strong about 10 minutes in. Maybe the way the debate was set up he just didn't have any long enough stretches of time where he could really get wound up and gain momentum. I thought he did better later on, but overall I was disappointed in him.

(1,184 posts)He is a script guy. Came across as completely fake.
I really enjoyed his bold Senate race, but I don't understand the point of his presidential candidacy. Especially with Buttigieg moving into his lane, I don't think this is going to end well for him.
I honestly was hoping for more from Jay Inslee, as well. Good record as governor and quite passionate about climate change, but tonight he came across as goofy to me tonight. Granted, the moderators were not allowing him much time and it is hard to make your case in that context.

Beto got pushed around and looked and sounded semi-prepared at best. I think he really hurt himself.
Ryan was having a pretty good night until he took on the Taliban and Gabbard destroyed him.

(185 posts)Warren was kind of boring- I expected more:
Castro and several other men ( I couldnt keep all of the screaming interrupting men straight) were just dicks. Screaming louder doesnt make you right on the issues. We already have trump.
Booker was decent. Amy was better than I expected.
My fav Beto started off guard at all the attacks inth beginning but got really good at the end

Ryan is just wrong, and though I am no Gabbard fan, she took Ryan apart on afganistan, and I have ZERO time for a democrat parroting the decades old conservative tropes that conservatives and the media parrot relentlessly to justify people wildly voting against themselves because the r party indulges their lesser spirits.
