178. Beto has much more depth on immigration than Castro
Wed Jun 26, 2019, 10:56 PM
Jun 2019

Castro has way oversimplified a very minor part of the problem.

Having a criminal sanction for people entering the country is required for the rare cases where hard core criminals do enter, eliminating it as Castro suggests is highly irresponsible.

I organized the resettlement of over 500,000 refugees into the US

Among the hundreds of thousands of families were dozens of criminals including rapists, serial killers and even a couple murder/cannibals. We were very good at screening them in the refugee camps in SE Asia.

During the Mariel Boat Lift thousands of criminals landed from Cuba including known murderers who, under Castro's plan would face no criminal action because they committed no crime here.

Beto knows this and avoided the cheap empty response. Beto has talked more often and with more depth about the causes of the migration problems in Central America.

Here’s what you’re gonna have to do, especially if they’ve not been in the top tier thus far:

Make a donation to their campaign, and if you have a partner or spouse, divide your total donation between both of you. Because the candidates need a certain number of small donors in addition to certain amounts of money to qualify for the debates this fall.

That’s what mr. Frazzled and I just decided to do for Castro and Booker after tonight. I’d like to hear from both of them again, and we won’t if they can’t raise enough money from enough donors to qualify.
