Democratic voters in every state get a vote in that choice. I don't understand your dismissal of the voters in Mississippi.

It's not beyond possibility that Mississippi will go Democratic in the general election, either. It has happened before.

Every voter counts, especially in primary elections. Every state sends delegates to the Democratic national convention.

I'm glad that Biden polled well in Mississippi, but these numbers are all going to change by next week. I'm assuming that at least some Dems in Mississippi are planning to watch the debates tonight and tomorrow. Then let's see how they feel about the candidates. There are so many good Dems on this slate that it's hard to pick a favorite.

such results very much at all. They will tell some people who are not polling well that they're not polling well, even after the debates, but I doubt they are going to cause large changes in the leaders' poll results.

These numbers from MS are significant. They are an indication of who is supported by AA voters in the deep south. That is going to matter a lot, since those states send a bunch of delegates to the convention.

If their preferred candidate becomes the nominee, that will help to drive up turnout, which could lead to some Democrats winning where they might not have with a lower turnout.

It is all in play.

The South helped Hillary Clinton win the nomination, which put some people who did not support her off their feed in 2016. We may be seeing some of that in this thread, I think.

But when it comes to Joe Biden racking up numbers in MS, we should dismiss our primary voters? Sorry, this does not compute.

In order to get to the GE, our candidates need to rack up numbers in the South. Yes, even in Mississippi. Is an MS victory in the GE plausible. Certainly a long-shot at best. But chucking out our voters like yesterday's newspaper is not a good look.

I suspect if it were anyone but Biden, this discussion would be far different. Curious.
