Wow! Warren! MoveOn straw poll has her with gigantic lead

https://front.moveon.org/elizabeth-warren-in-first-place-bernie-sanders-in-second-in-moveons-latest-member-straw-poll%E2%80%A9/

WASHINGTON, DC — Sen. Elizabeth Warren leads a new MoveOn straw poll with the support of 38% of members nationwide, followed by Bernie Sanders with 17%. Warren is also in first place among MoveOn members statewide in the early voting states of Iowa (37%), New Hampshire (38%), Nevada (36%), South Carolina (32%), and California (39%).

Warren is the first or second choice of 63% of MoveOn members nationwide. This represents a substantial shift in MoveOn members’ support toward Warren since the organization conducted its first 2020 Democratic primary straw poll in December 2018. In that straw poll, MoveOn member support was up for grabs, with a plurality of MoveOn members either undecided or supporting a candidate not listed in the poll.

The way I see it, once we've defeated Trump and forced the racists, misogynists, homophobes, xenophobes, and other kluxer or nazi types back under their slimy rocks, we simply cannot go back to business as usual. Expectations are too high.

I want healthcare because I'm sick of having crummy, rationed healthcare with financially crippling copays. I'd be willing to pay A LOT more in taxes for Medicare for All. You see, it doesn't bother me a bit that other people can get great healthcare without having to be wheeled through the accounting department before getting treatment to make sure they can pay. I don't want that for myself, my family or for you and your family. There's no excuse for us not extending healthcare to every single American.

Problem is, we spend more on 'defense' than the next 7 or 8 countries behind us, combined. We have to contract that budget slowly so people working in that industry don't suffer unduly, but it needs to be substantially cut. Healthcare, subsidized childcare, free college - these really ARE the things we need to be spending our tax money on.

And we most definitely need to reverse the giant tax cut for billionaires and corporations, and substantially raise taxes, and then DO stuff with that revenue that actually helps Americans.

Green New Deal? I'm for it. Several of the candidates have very strong environmental policies.

Bottom line....MoveOn does represent a bunch of people, but like any organization in any democratic republic, it doesn't mirror every position I have. And I do not mirror every position MoveOn has.

But most of it? Yes. There's GOT to be some substantive and fairly rapid change around here. NO MORE business as usual. These people we elect need to actually go into office and DO stuff that benefits us.
