Full Headline:

More than one-third of Democratic voters want Bernie Sanders to drop out of the 2020 presidential race

More than one-third of voters want Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont to drop out of the 2020 presidential race, making him one of the highest in that category among the large field of candidates.

The results of the poll as the 2020 primary race heats up could ultimately spell trouble for Sanders, who has carved out a lane as the Democrats' far-left option to unseat President Donald Trump.

According to a new poll from USA Today and Suffolk University, 35% said Sanders should drop out, compared to 40% who were excited about his candidacy, 21% with no opinion, and 4% who had never heard of him.

Texas already has an INCREDIBLE Senate candidate in Mary Hegar. She’s close, but I suspect it will be similar to 2018 for Beto with a close, but just short result.

If Beto is not on the ticket as either POTUS, or VPOTUS, Texas electoral votes are not going to happen, and the ability to pull a Senate upset is very questionable.

A synergy between Beto on the national ticket + Hegar on the senate side could very well land us the Texas 38 electoral votes PLUS a +1 count in the Senate. At the very least the Republicans would have to spend a crapload of their un-primaried war-chest just trying to cling onto this state that they normally can rely on and spend relatively little defending.

With such a large field of candidates, it makes it more difficult for Dolt45 to aim his small quiverful of hateful, spiteful and poisonous arrows -- too many targets. By the time the field gets narrowed down to the top 3 or 4, they'll have made enough of a good impression that those arrows will lose their potency. and if ALL the current candidates refuse to respond to Dolt45 (in other words, IGNORE him) then that would be so much better for them, and for the Party.

I have watched multiple interviews with actual voters on MSNBC in the last two days

Latinxs in Miami

African-Americans in South Carolina

mostly whites in Pennsylvania and Iowa

all sorts of different age cohorts

The one unifying theme was that the vast majority said (especially the Miami and South Carolina crowds) was that the one person they would not (some even said they might vote Trump if he wins our nomination) vote for in the general was Bernie.

It is electoral suicide to nominate him, and also he can (and may well) do great damage if he has no path to the nomination, yet refuses to drop out (as he has a large, fanatical base who will keep pouring in good money after bad to sustain his campaign) and pulls a repeat of 2016 and goes full stop scorched earth against the remaining 3, 4 (or even 1 or 2) remaining front-runners.

I occasionally (not much as it is sickening) go read the non DU Berner sites, YT channels, and Twitter feeds, and they are viciously opposed to Warren. It is disgusting to see most of the invective used against her and all the other of our candidates (except for Tulsi Gabbard, who they are convinced will be the next VP for POTUS Bernie).

The percentage cited of those who want Bernie to drop out is 35%. BUT, that is 35% of ALL those responding to the poll.
65% of whom are NOT Democrats. (Read the poll: question #3)

So, perhaps this poll shows the opposition fears Bernie the most and therefore want him to drop out.

55. As for saying Trump and Bernie have so much in common. NO THEY DON"T.....
Fri Jun 21, 2019, 06:12 PM
Jun 2019

I watched LOTS of Bernie's speeches prior to the 2016 election. Late in the race, Trump SAID all the great things he was going to do for everybody, mimicking Bernie because he saw how Bernie was attracting new followers.... but Trump was LYING. Bernie does NOT lie. Bernie has been saying the same things for years because the same things have been going wrong still and people want a lot of things changed. That does not make Bernie a radical. A lot of things need changing.

I, for one, will vote for Biden, if I have to, but my heart won't be in it because Biden will be much like Hilary. He will have to be dragged to do much. He won't even show up now for different candidate events. Does he want a coronation or something? And still the media fawns over him like they did for Trump, excusing him for past misdeeds which have been offensive to certain groups.

As for the socialist label that you think trump will hang on Bernie. That will only happen if YOU LET IT. Most all the other candidates have borrowed the same language and the more the better. People know that Bernie wants the same things the majority wants.

Bernie constantly asks for people to come together. He is not divisive as many would say who would tell him to stop running for office. Who has any right to tell him not to?

It's very early in the race. As I said before, I will vote for any Dem in the general who wins, but so much nastiness is going on against Bernie daily, I doubt the reverse will be true for many other-than-Bernie folks. Is that what you really want? Then surely trump will win.

you actually check the facts? The OP graciously posted a link to the poll results on which the article was based.

And by reading them, we KNOW the ones answering didn't say they were Republicans (of course, they might have lied about their affiliation, but if we assume this, then what's the point of polling at all)?

Wow, that must have been a really difficult hurdle for him to overcome.

Also, I've seen polls where other candidates defeat the scumbag. There goes the only argument for Biden's candidacy right out the window. Oops.

He's almost 80 fucking years old and he is the wrong person to be leading this party and country into the future. His generation had their time and I wish they'd get off the stage already, at least on a presidential level.

Bernie is one of the highest as the article reports, but 20-26% of respondents want most other big name Democrats to drop out, too. In perspective, Bernie's numbers are only about 10% higher than the rest of the field.

IMO, Bernie should stay in as long as he can.
