Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumBiden being Obama's Veep almost completely closes the deal for me.
I'll listen to plans. I'll listen to voices. I see a lot of good things in our candidates. I think Obama would easily trounce Trump, though, if Obama could be on the ticket. Biden is the next best thing as far as I can tell.
Let's see how he and we Dems deal with the cards that are being played against him. It will tell us about him and ourselves. I think we've all done pretty well so far.

(13,186 posts)...some would argue. Very strong.
In the primary, I do think Obama should let the candidates talk to the people first and not endorse anyone. But of all the people Obama could have picked to take over the Presidency if necessary, Obama chose Biden.

(6,280 posts).... But he'd rather win that on his own merits. Thus:
President Obama has long said that selecting Joe Biden as his running mate in 2008 was one of the best decisions he ever made. He relied on the Vice Presidents knowledge, insight, and judgment throughout both campaigns and the entire presidency. The two forged a special bond over the last 10 years and remain close today," the statement said.
I asked President Obama not to endorse," he said. "Whoever wins this nomination should win it on their own merits."

(3,433 posts)Obama was a good president. He will be remembered for his health care initiatives. What we need now is economic reforms. We need transformations that will turn the economy into one where we have a growing middle class and rising wages. With the global economy and automation, the conventional policies don't work any more. We need leaders who will think outside of the box. I am not convinced that Biden understands this.
His recent statement in a meeting with wealthy donors, where he told not to worry about their income, has really soured on me.
