for helping our party. It doesn't demonstrate working "across the aisle." It just demonstrates being willing to negotiate with monsters in order to get your bill passed ending bussing for school desegregation.

Biden should have told about being able to work with actual Republicans, the way Kennedy and Hatch did, and not brought up ancient history about hate filled Dems.

His advisors tried to keep him from shooting himself in the foot. They were wiser than he.

13. While the tone between the men was conciliatory, the former vice president stood by his remarks

Thursday while his allies defended them.

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/06/20/us/politics/biden-booker-apology.html

WASHINGTON — Former Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. called a rival in the 2020 presidential campaign, Senator Cory Booker, to try to smooth over tensions late Wednesday night after Mr. Booker said that the former vice president should apologize for his warm comments about segregationist senators.

Mr. Biden made the call after Mr. Booker spent 20 minutes on CNN lambasting his remarks, according to two people familiar with the call. While the tone between the men was conciliatory, the former vice president stood by his remarks Thursday while his allies defended them.

Mr. Biden’s campaign, which has sought to portray itself as a level above the 22 other Democrats seeking the party’s presidential nomination, urged surrogates to fire back at competitors like Mr. Booker who criticize Mr. Biden by noting that they too have cut deals with Republicans with checkered histories on race issues.

Not good look, white man asking a black man to apologise when the white man was the one who made racially insensitive statements. Booker, as a PoC, and more specifically an African-American, was well within all his rights to not be happy with Biden's statements.

Was the tone deaf. Booker needs to learn not to go on CNN and diss Biden for 20 minutes, demanding he apologize when Biden told the truth about working together to accomplish things.

Booker is losing so he tried this tactic to get attention. And this post is written by someone who really admired Booker as a hands on Mayor. But he is not a leader any more. He is part of the Democratic team. He needs to learn that.

Biden was decent enough to call Booker after he attacked him for nothing.i ask you who is the better team player? It is not Booker!
