(5,995 posts)The larger issue is normalizing a racist by noting he didn't call the white guy "boy".
If Biden had said that it was possible to work with even such a racist to further a common good, no one would have hardly noticed.
If he said that even Strom Thurman sometimes voted to approve Dem budgets, that would have been on solid ground.
Tone deaf is always going to be a problem when you are asking to lead the choir.
