Marianne Williamson apologizes, says she misspoke in calling vaccines 'draconian'

CNN

Democratic presidential candidate Marianne Williamson is apologizing and claiming that she "misspoke" after reportedly referring to vaccination mandates as "draconian" and "Orwellian."

"To me, it's no different than the abortion debate. The US government doesn't tell any citizen, in my book, what they have to do with their body or their child," Williamson said at an event Tuesday in Manchester, New Hampshire, according to a tweet from a NBC reporter.
Williamson, an author and spiritual adviser, apologized Wednesday for her comments.

"I understand that many vaccines are important and save lives. I recognize there are epidemics around the world that are stopped by vaccines," Williamson said in a statement on Twitter. "I also understand some of the skepticism that abounds today about drugs which are rushed to market by Big Pharma. I am sorry that I made comments which sounded as though I question the validity of life-saving vaccines. That is not my feeling and I realize that I misspoke."

Either she said it because she believes it, or she said it because she thought her audience believed it.

which is pneumonia. They were the parents only children. One day they had 2 children and the next day they had none.

This was in the early 1900s. I don't know how they could weather that kind of storm, and it happened time after time. Another family lost 4 children within a weeks time. Vaccinations stopped that. Measles weren't easy on children.

schools should be able to refuse to enroll them. Damn, I can't even take my dog to a boarding facility unless he has had rabies and other shots.

State Representative Chuck Wichgers of Wisconsin just had his anti-vax legislation stalled for the second time. (Milwaukee Journal, 6/20/2019 “Legislators reluctant to require vaccines”)

Wichgers stated that “he would not schedule public hearings on the bill to avoid putting new rules on parents medical decisions for their children.”
