Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumThe Secret to Elizabeth Warren's Surge? Ideas
Turns out people do like to hear about policies and Warren is able to present them in a way that's understandable to the average voter.

"Better than any other candidate, Warren has articulated a connection between her personal and professional struggles and her ideas, lending an air of authenticity to her campaign. Her backstory teacher turned reluctant stay-at-home mom turned Harvard Law School professor clearly resonates with voters in important states such as Iowa and South Carolina."

(12,344 posts)One, is that it's really hard to find someone who is both wonky and explains things well. She must have been a very popular professor.
Two, is she is talking about economic populism at the torches and pitchforks level. People have long felt the game was rigged in favor of the rich. That was okay as long as you got your own little share, but now a lot more people at the bottom are feeling squeezed. Warren and Sanders are the only two really talking about this, but Warren talks a much better game than Sanders.

(4,341 posts)She has a plan, she has an agenda for the country, not a personal agenda, she understands that the economy is rigged and has the knowledge to fix it, because she is not in there for herself, because she is genuine, because she understands very clearly that republicans are not a bunch that you are going to convince to work with you (that is a fantasy to think republicans will work in good faith with Democrats), she knows they are enemies, not because Democrats made it that way, but because repubs made it that way.
I can go on and on about her qualities and approach to the nomination, such as her being a real progressive, highly educated, etc., etc. but I think the few things I have listed put her above many of the candidates.

(5,275 posts)Like her a lot, she would be a quantum improvement over Baby Trump....as would most all our candidates.
Election Day 2020 we can start ending this nightmare....though that adult infant would likely have to be dragged out of the White House so he can go on trial in New York.
