Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumI doubt that the debates are going to be "attack the competitor" thing.
Instead, each of the candidates is going to have to try, in short bursts, to say something that will set him or her apart from the other 23 candidates. There won't be time for attacking the leader if you want to move up in the polls.
With a couple of exceptions, all of our Democratic candidates are good, honest Democrats who want to lead the country in a progressive direction. Where they disagree, it's on the fine points of how to do that.
So, expect each of them, with possibly one or two exceptions, to try to make their own case in the short time they have to address the debate questions. Any of them who tries to diss another Democrat is going to fail miserably in the polls that follow these debates.
So, if you're looking for fireworks, you're probably not going to enjoy these debates. If, however, you want to learn more about each of the candidates, keep your attention on their answers to each debate question.

OLDness. It's not just for septuaginarians anymore, like it was in the OLD days. Seems like that was just last week.

(8,924 posts)They don't need to say things to one another that our opponents can use against our eventual general election candidate. I really hope they keep their comments to what they will do to fix the mess that Trump and Republicans have created.

(11,686 posts)At this time they need to make sure their followers are willing to switch over to the winner. Making their Democrat competitors look bad would be a big mistake. Also they NEED to IMMEDIATELY endorse the winner.
None of this having a tantrum that they did not win crap again.

(146,317 posts)Only one will be the nominee. I see no reason to attack any of them, although I recognize some who don't have any chance of becoming the nominee. All of them are progressive, to one degree or another. One of them will be on the ballot next November, and that one will get my support and vote, whatever his or her name is.
