The HillRep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) has chosen a winner among the White House candidates who have proposed a climate policy proposal so far: Jay Inslee.
The Green New Deal champion praised the Democratic governor of Washington's climate proposal Tuesday, calling it the gold standard climate plan.
Jay Inslees I think is the gold standard climate plan that we have right now, Ocasio-Cortez told The Hill Tuesday.
I do think that Jay Inslees plan is a phenomenal blueprint and example of where we need to go. Its got the scale, the jobs and justice, she added.

It's the only planet we've got, folks.
And all the jobs in the world and all the affordable health care in the world won't mean squat if our planet's burning up.
I'd ask all the deniers - "and to what planet do you suggest we evacuate when Earth can't support life anymore? Got a spare somewhere that we don't know about?"

(58,785 posts)Although there are a number of plans, I feel pretty sure Inslee's is a good, well thought out one.
Of course, some of our other candidates, and a whole lot of other Democrats in office, know far more about the incredibly interwoven intricacies of sustainable energy, environment, water, air, agriculture, climate, public health, etc, issues than those who haven't had to study and work with them realize exist.
Congress has a lot of Democrats who ran for office to continue the work they've been doing on climate issues with many outside experts.
