Elizabeth Warren Draws Impressive Turnout for Oakland Rally

The “I have a plan for that” candidate addressed a crowd of 6,500 at Laney College

Turns out the people of Oakland, Calif. love plans. Or, at least, the 6,500 people who showed up to presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren’s town hall sure do. Warren, the “I have a plan for that” candidate drew an impressive crowd at Oakland’s Laney College. As one attendee, Rachel Johnson-Farias, told the San Jose Mercury News, “She’s the only politician right now with a concrete plan—and she has a concrete plan for everything.”

( excerpt) “It’s not just the mass shootings. It’s the ones that never make the headlines. It’s the kids who are shot at the playground, on the sidewalk, in their own homes. Gun violence touches families every day,” she said. “On the question of gun violence, I will be fearless. We will be side by side and we will protect our children.”

She also talked about the corrupting power of money in politics and government, one of her big issues: “Here’s the deal: When you’ve got a government that works great for those with money, works great for those who can hire an army of lobbyists and lawyers, works great for those at the top, but isn’t working for the rest of the people, that is corruption pure and simple and we need to call it out,” she told the crowd.

1. straight clear talk....she was a professor of law back in the day.

2. smart as can be

3. Her clothes. she basically wears a uniform of black top, black pants, and an apparently unlimited supply of the same jacket, in many colors.
No fuss, no muss. That is actually quite telling to those who understand it.

4. She has a Golden Retriever. That also tells me something.

5. she is very much her own person, I pity the fool who tries to patronize her.

There are 6 candidates I have contributed money to this year. All of them, together with the 20+ at 1% in early polls, will make better President than Trump.

Warren is not just the “big ideas” candidate (would they be calling her that if she was a man?), she was also the first to call for Trump’s impeachment. She is the progressive knight in shiny armor that will slay Voldemort.

that a lot of us wanted to have in 2016 and after she didn't run a lot of us supported Bernie Sanders. I'm guessing a lot of the erosion of Bernie's support is the fact that Elizabeth is running this time.

That Elizabeth Warren has always been one for Straight Talk. She's always been the one to get under the orange one's skin! She had a nickname before any of the others. I've loved that she's always stood up for the average citizen, no matter who they were, what they did, where they worked, who they loved.

Still, I will remain undecided here on DU, there's quite a bit more research into any Democratic Candidate before making a choice. But, I will always vote for the Democratic Candidate!
